Pre-and Post-surgical Rehab

Pre-surgical rehabilitation may be instituted if the physician wants the patient to learn exercises prior to having the surgery or he may wish the patient gain more strength before having surgery.

Post-surgical rehabilitation is usually ordered to help patient regain range of motion, functional strength in a controlled manner, improve balance, transfers or endurance for weight-bearing activities and to restore functional ADL to allow patient return to pre-surgical functional levels.
