Sports Injuries

Being active and participating in sports requires a higher level of fitness than normal ADLs. When someone has a sports injury, the therapy employed is similar to non-sport injuries in the acute stages. Once the initial injury is in the post-acute stage, the sports rehab candidate must be strengthened and stretched to allow for the increased stresses and strains of that particular activity. By understanding the biomechanics of motion required for any particular activity, stabilization and mobility can be properly reintroduced to allow a safe return to activity with limited risk of being re-injured.
