Joel Knickerbocker, PT
Co-Owner/Physical Therapist

I grew up on the Jersey shore and earned my physical therapy degree at Ithaca College in upstate New York in 1981. I slowly migrated south with my first job in Bluefield, West Virginia working at Bluefield Community Hospital. I then moved to Florida in 1983 and worked in multiple job settings until 1991. I have worked in nursing homes, in-patient hospital physical therapy, hospital out-patient physical therapy, private out-patient physical therapy and home health physical therapy, learning much in each of the various settings.

I married my wife Debbie 1989 and together we opened Pasco Rehabilitation in 1991. We have three children and 4 grandchildren as of this posting. We have been residents of East Pasco County since 1989 and our ties to the community are deep. Our commitment to this community has been our support for the youth athletic programs and in particular, the high school sports programs. Pasco Rehabilitation’s commitment to these programs has been part of our company’s mission since its inception.

Our practice and my skill sets cater to surgical and non-surgical orthopedics, musculoskeletal imbalances, pain mitigation, postural and structural imbalances and corrections, with a holistic approach to body wellness. I use multiple techniques to assist my patients in getting well, eliminating pain and regaining functional range of motion and strength. A combination of hands-on manual care, exercises, modalities, orthotics and education are used to progress patients toward wellness. After therapy, patients are encouraged to continue their journey toward wellness and embrace lifestyle changes to avoid recurrences.

In my spare time I enjoy golf, photography and our hobby farm. We have four dogs, four horses and three chickens on our small 10 acres. More than half of our animals have been rescued and adopted. Needless to say, we have a soft spot in our hearts for animals in need.
